Somebody put the fire out on Brian G’s parade, the Dragons have now won 7 straight. Meanwhile the Townsville Crocs are moving in the wrong direction on the ladder having lost the last 4 in a row and now sit outside the finals group. The 36ers had their chance to get back in the mix after beating the Breakers in New Zealand, they were up by 10 points in the final quarter against Cairns at home only to let Darnell Mee hit a layup on the buzzer to win the game (I was there, I’m still in shock).
One of the great unknowns this season in the Tigers? their form is little all over the place at this stage. But with a 7 and 4 record and star studded line-up they still look like the team to give the Dragons a run for their money. P.S. The Breakers have not had a great couple of weeks with injury, look for them to come back and solidify their position on the ladder in the next couple weeks.
Performance of the week : Chris Anstey vs Sydney Spirit = 20 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks and a large fries & coke.
Better luck next week : Aaron Bruce vs NZ and Cairns = 4 of 23 from the field, 0 of 11 from down town. Surely a week Aaron would prefer to forget.
