36ers cut Tyndale, bring back Hodge

The 36ers announced today that they have cut Mark Tyndale from the team. But in his place comes former Adelaide import Julius Hodge. Hodge was stat filling player for Adelaide last season as was seen to be one of the best imports in the league. Hodge tried out in the NBA but got cut from the Nets roster.

36ers fabns are now hoping that Hodge can improve the 36ers 4and7 record.

Bogut gets out of form slump

Andrew Bogut hasn’t had the greatest form in the last couple of days, he got pushed around by Shaq (then abused on twitter) and only scored 10 points in two games. In fact it got to the point he even lost his starting role. But in today game against the Spurs Bogut came into a bit of form. Posting stats of 10 points, 4 assists, 3 steals and a massive 17 boards. Boguts performance and Jefferson 19 points also helped the Bucks snap a 3 game losing streak with a victory over the spurs.

Mills, Ogilvy make Wooden shortlist

Two of Australia’s best young basketball talents have been included in a list of 50 players as preseason candidates for the 2008-09 John R. Wooden Award All-American Team and Player of the Year trophy.

Saint Mary’s sophomore guard Patrick Mills (Monash, ACT) and Vanderbilt sophomore centre A.J. Ogilvy (Castle Hill, NSW), former team mates at the AIS, are the highly touted hoopsters making a big impression on the American college scene.

Andrew Bogut won the Wooden Award on his way into the NBA.
