Milwaukee Bucks General Manager John Hammond announced today that Andrew Bogut suffered a lower left leg strain and contusion in Wednesday’s 99-85 win against New Jersey that is expected to sideline the fifth-year center for two-to-four weeks.
Bogut scored team-highs of 21 points and 11 rebounds in the win and left the game late in the fourth period and did not return to action.
Bogut, 24, was examined by Bucks orthopedic physician Dr. Michael Gordon, M.D., and underwent an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) exam this morning, which revealed the injury.
In nine games this season (all starts), Bogut has averaged 16.1 points, 9.2 rebounds (19th in NBA), 1.9 assists and 1.44 blocked shots (22nd in the NBA) in 33.6 minutes per game. Bogut ranks 11th in the NBA in field goal percentage (.565), connecting on 65 of 115 attempts from the floor.

Well so much for 'easing him back in' - 22pts, 16reb, 3 ass, 4 blks in 35 minutes in a Bucks win over the Bulls.

Luke Ridnour added 20 points off the bench for the Bucks, who had lost five in a row to Portland prior to Saturday. Brandon Jennings tallied 18 points and 11 assists, Ersan Ilyasova had 11 points and eight rebounds and Michael Redd chipped in 11 points for Milwaukee, which has won two in a row following a four-game skid.
“We showed a lot of character tonight,” said Bogut. “Last year’s team, we probably would have bit the dust and probably lost in that one overtime, but we believed tonight.”
Bogut is continuing probably his best season in the NBA so far , keep it up.

He was running out of legs in the overtimes last night which was pretty expected since he kept the Bucks in the game all night long. He made some big time shots at important times and some excellent defensive plays.
Right now he is probably the second best center in the East behind Dwight Howard although the all-star berth for back up center probably goes to Brook Lopez who puts up better numbers on a horrible team. Ilgauskas played several all star games with similar or worse stats.

Bucks are wearing some hideously colored red uniforms. They look like the old Rockets uniform gone wrong.

He still isn't getting the touches he needs in the fourth quarter, but it was better than it has been. Michael Redd is still over dribbling and forcing up stupid shots down the stretch and I'd hate to see his FT % when the game is on the line - he misses way too often because his stroke is way too long and it breaks down. That said, Bogut needs to make himself more available when Redd has the ball so it is obvious this is what happening so the excuse 'I had to shoot it - no one else was helping me' is not valid.
Big scoring nights are important, but it is very important than Bogut sees if he can get above the 10 rebounds per game mark. If Bogut can step up and average a double-double for the season would be a huge accomplishment

Loved seeing that Bogut took 23 shots (career high) he really needs to be more active on the offensive end and start taking the shots Jennings takes.
Hopefully Bogues can start building some consistency and lead this team to the playoffs!!

Dwight Howard is the obvious starter but after that is a toss up. Brook Lopez is probably statistically better, but his team is awful. After that I am not sure who you would put in front of Bogut. There is also a couple of forwards listed on the all star ballot as centers (Bargnani, Horford).
The only thing really in the way is them choosing Shaq for 'services to the game' or some BS. Shaq isn't an all star this year and doesn't deserve to be there playing in any capacity.
If any Buck makes the all-star team it will be Bogut

The Lakers had no Gasol so Bogut only had to go up against Andrew Bynum tonight and Bynum simply outplayed him. Bynum had 17 points and 18 rebounds while Bogut only scored 3 points for the whole game. He got bench for big stretches of the game tonight.

Andrew Bogut had just fouled out with 4:11 left, Chris Bosh(notes) was on his way to a career night for the Raptors and the Bucks were clinging to the slimmest of leads.
“It was gut check time,” Milwaukee’s Charlie Bell(notes) said. “When (Bogut) went out of the game, it was time for other guys to step up. We could’ve easily laid down and said, ‘Oh man, we lost because Andrew fouled out.”’
They didn’t.
The Bucks went on a 7-0 run just after Bogut fouled out and Milwaukee held on to beat Toronto 113-107 on Wednesday night, overcoming Bosh’s career-high 44 points.
“We learned a lot about ourselves,” Bell said.
Bogut had 27 points and 12 rebounds before picking up his sixth foul on the offensive end when Jarrett Jack(notes) slipped in behind him and drew a foul.
Moments later, Bosh hit two free throws to cut it to 103-102 before Milwaukee pulled away by pulling in offensive rebounds.
“A lot of hustle. We needed that. We weren’t shooting the ball that well from the perimeter,” Bogut said. “If we can get some cheap points, that’ll help us win games.”

They interviewed him after the game - I didn't know that he pays for all the tickets for the lunatics that scream like a soccer crowd at every Bucks home game. He covers 100 lower bowl tickets, conducts 'auditions' and as he said 'Free tickets and all you have do is scream and yell all game'.
That a pretty good deal if I have ever heard one.

Bogut and the Bucks destroyed Miami tonight. There were two of us at the game with Aussie flags, Bogut jerseys, etc... We were not popular at the beginning and we became more obnoxious as the game wore on. Most of the local fans left by the end of the third quarter.
Bogut was outstanding - the Heat don't have anyone who can match up with him. Delfino is becoming a very, very good NBA player and the Heat didn't know what to do with him either. The Heat simply don't match up well with the Bucks and were never really in the game except for the first few minutes of the first quarter.
