The Perth Wildcats came into the game as hot favourites, but at half time the game very much look in the balance with the Wollongong Hawks seemingly having their way on the offensive end. But the 3rd quarter changed the game for the Wildcats, Kevin Lisch continued to play well knocking down shots (he had 29 points at the last break) and it is was the Perth Wildcats full court defense and their offensive rebounding which rattled the Wollongong Hawks, led by Galen Young among others. This combined with a bit of luck that 3 pointer by Kevin Lisch on the buzzer should not have counted. But you make you own luck in sport and this was no different, the Perth Wildcats ran away with the game (96-72) in the 4th quarter and history has been written.

The Perth Wildcats are now the most successful team in Australian history having now won 5 championships (separating themselves form the Adelaide 36ers and the Melbourne Tigers on 4)

Martin Cattalini has now retired form basketball were it al start for him, he now has 4 championship rings (2 with Perth and 2 with Adelaide)

Kudos must go to the Wollongong Hawks, they were at one stage not going to be part of the league and were always written off. The NBL needs fairytales and teams against the odds that play with heart and the Hawks have done that

Congrats Perth Wildcats, enjoy the PARTY

Yeah Schenscher didnt have a great series at all, but hey he helped us get to the finals so I wont attack the guy.

As for Redhage check his game 3 stats... oh snap you probably only look at points per game... he was equal leader in rebounds with 7 as well as equal leader with assists on 4. He only took 6 shots... but yeah he didnt score 20 points so man he was shit!!!!!

As Shawn Redhage said - one word to describe the team is sacrifice, and being a captain that is what he did when it came to parts of his game. You dont need to be a rocket scientist to see that the ball goes inside to Schenscher a lot more than Shawn so his scoring numbers were bound to be lower than that of previous seasons, which is a good thing beause it meant we didnt need Shawn to be firing in order to win games.

But hey, you will probably claim im a "Redhage lover" now just like I was a "Lisch lover" earlier in the season, yet now look how many of you claim to have always loved Lisch...

Oh - the guy who backs the Hawks, that fat indian dude... what an asshole!!!!!!!! such a rude prick, *tried* to chat to him prior to the game and he didnt want a bar of it, just made the Cats destroying the Hawks that much better :P

You are a redhedge lover something chronic look at your posts from last year trying ton convince us all he was better then Worhtington.. He had 7 boards... WOW he should be compared with Mark Davis now.. 4 assists dammmm..

any one can say anything once they have won it all etc etc sarcrafice, i did this i did that for the team.. He had a crap finals series and the lesser guys stepped up.. Steve weighs shots where all ones redhage takes as were catalinis, and id rather have redhage taking them to be honest, but then you will say the argument is null and void because you won...

Look at it this way every team will now be chasing perth so you have to improve somewhat Lisch will be the player every club will base its tapes off, so its now redhedges job to become a scoring option...
He had a crap series its simple..

The two guys that every team should be trowing cash at right now are Lisch and Tragath.. mate if i had the option i would sack redhage in a hearbeat to get tragath him and lisch in the same team would be devestating.. but no way either of them will move... Lisch maybe to Europe or the D league

The role players and Lisch won it
Scesher should play Big V or the perth equvilant and thats it

The only thing Redhage has not done as often this season as opposed to seasons prior is score... and that is because of a new system which Bevo has put in line.

Check the even spread of minutes the boys play, the amount of shots each player takes on a nightly basis and you will see that this is why the ppg of Redhage dropped this season, though keep in mind also we are only playing 40min games now, and lets also remember who was the teams leading scorer this season, I will give you a clue he wears number 42 and is the captain of the Perth Wildcats.

Your turning in to South01, a player has a average or below average couple of games and they r suddenly shit... give me some stats to prove that Shawn is not a good player this season?

I wont say he was a dominant this season as last season, but that has nothing to do with him as a player getting worst, it comes down to the roll he was asked to play.

The Wildcats didnt just pop up in the finals people, it took an entire season of games to get there...

Oh and yes Schenscher certainly did not play to his standards this season and its a mystery as to why... I would hope we go after Johnson for next season.

Very true, either will do haha.

A few people saying we should get Loughton back but I dont think this will happen... he wont be a player wanting to come off the bench and I dont see us putting Redhage at the 3 and Weigh on the bench.

Easy big fella..
Redhage way less dominant than previous seasons but still a valuable player,i don't know the reason whether it be team plays or what ever.

i don't say a player is shit after a few bad games,i may say they are shit in a game.

The Indian Dude who saved Hawks probably had no idea what you were saying,he has a full time interpreter his English is so limited ;)
