Your starters have no rebounding. We'll suck without Maric or Baynes on court IMO.

Looking at the 3 teams we are playing, rebounding might not be a big issue :-). Aleks Maric would certainly round this side out and allow Andersen to play a much more natural role for himself. Maric is a banger who does his best work inside the key, Andersen can be seen 15 feet from the ring on offense due to his good shooting range for a big man.

I have not seen/heard of Aron Baynes in such a long time so not sure how he has been going?

All in all I think we will be ok, but Maric would make a serious difference and would a create a front court that will be a defensive nightmare for lots of teams at the Worlds.

I have heard no final word on whether Maric is pulling out or not, but its not looking good :-(

Mills/Markovic/(Martin)/Gibson
Newley/Inges/Martin/(Barlow)
Neilsen/Barlow/(Worthington)/(Andersen)
Andersen/ (Baynes)/(Worthington)/(Neilsen)
Baynes/Ogilvy/ (Andersen)

Hoping players like Nevill, Jawai, et al are not available for whatever reason (i.e trying to get a contact somewhere else) as this squad lacks all the size we should have available. Markovic is coming off an injury and needs all the court time he can get. I don't like Gibson as a player.

I put in depth subs (i.e. players who can play either position when needed)

You do not want to start Andersen as center although we might anyway. If you do, then Baynes must start at PF and play the post while you allow Andersen to wander when needed.

Looking at the squads, Australia should really go into this tournament expecting to win it. China without Yao is not overly threatening, Iran can barely put out a NBL level squad and Slovenia don't look to be at full strength (and we should be beating them even if they were).

Official site... http://bscup.tom.com...lish/index.html Goran Dragic (Slovenia, Suns) will be shocked that he is listed at 212cm and as a center unless he magically grew 9 inches over the summer.

There have been numerous reports in Serbian papers that he will play, even with quotes from Maric explaining his decision...

Great win by the Boomers, not sure what the deal was some of the fouls calls late in the game but they came away with a 1 point victory none the less.

I understand several guys were making their season debuts but then it's a Yao-less China.

Far too many Tos from everyone. Boomers need to find a starting PG from somewhere.

Markovic had a disappointing game. I could see him being the one dropped when Maric comes in.

What was the fuss near the end when China had a throw in where Yi eventually got FTs and the lead for China? Both coaches went up to speak to the refs.
