Basketball Pet Hates

Another reason I can think of is that alot of people will dribble the ball in the direction of their favored hand as they find the ball hard to control when using their non preferred hand. Personally I don't have a problem with either hand but still find myself driving to the basket on the right side. Makes me easy to guard

Players who demand the ball when they have 2 defenders on them would be my pet hate, especially when afterwards they have a go at you for not passing them the ball.
Umpires who one minute classify 'hand is part of the ball' then next play your pinged for doing that very thing.
Im sure there are more haha

People who get triple teamed in the post and don't pass it out. Something I was guilty of in the past, now I see how annoying it is!
Refs with no backbone.
And people who try to fade away and then end up airballing when I try to block their shot (I don't expect them to just let me block them but it's still annoying).

Refs who are friends with the opposing team, would happen at least once a month in one league I play in
Players who never sit on the bench, even though you have 8 or 9 players
Players who scream we need to play better team basketball, then proceed to create their own shot at every opportunity
Players who are just straight out lazy, e.g. never get back on D, or you have to wait for them to come up on offense, hence slowing down the whole team
Players who have a few beers and say they really want to play, then don't turn up for 4 weeks
Players who always seam to be sick, but are never sick when finals come around
Losing

Hmmm....
Players pounding the ball for 20 seconds and going nowhere and then shooting it (or driving into 5 set defenders)
Worse is players who jack up a bad shot just after you have run the court to make post position. And then complain when you don't get back on D after a long rebound off their stupid shot.
Players who haven't taken a shower this week (or last)
Players who wont move in a zone (i.e. they just stand there and never help/recover/move with the ball). Big pet peeve in Australian basketball on defense - loved it on offense. I hit SO many corner and wing threes against zones without any effort.
Refs who are confrontational and wont talk to you at all. And Refs who are on power trips.
Teams who watch a shooter pour in 3 after 3... We had an A grade league where one team had a great shooter who had RANGE. And teams week after week used to watch him as he killed them. Never did anything about him. We just played a diamond or box and one on him with a bigger player and he barely got a shot off.
Athletic guys who can dunk big time during practice and after the game but are so passive during an actual game it is stupid.
I could go on...

Also point gaurds who just come down the court and shoot off impossible shots and create a fast break for the opposition ....
People who say dont do this and dont do that then go out there and do it all night themselves...

Parents who think they know everything about basketball (and yell out instructions during a match), when they have never played. We all have seen the types, who act as if they know more about basketball than anyone even though they have not had any formal coaching training.
That really pisses me off.
